Leisure activities

Le Vieux Logis gives you the opportunity to experience a wide range of activities, such as walking/hiking, cycling or fishing.

For those who love a vigorous walk and fresh air, Le Vieux Logis is located at the heart of the chemins de St Jacques, and close to a number of circuits listed by the French Walking/Hiking Federation. There is enough choice for everyone to find something to suit them, from a leisurely stroll to an exacting hike! You can explore the woods around Bordes, Angaïs and Lourdes at your leisure, and discover and marvel at the beauty of our majestic Pyrenean mountains!

From cycle hire to an energizing breakfast, Le Vieux Logis has what it takes to welcome cycling or MTB fanatics. We can give you advice on a range of circuits, from Bagnères de Bigorre through the Val d’Azun, up to the col d’Aubisque. When you arrive, the reception desk staff will be happy to give you maps of the different cycling circuits, with something to suit every level !

Just 500m from the hotel, come and share the whitewater thrills and experience an unforgettable adventure in the aquatic playground which hosts the World kayak and hydrospeed championships.

With a stream nearby and a lake just 15 km away, Le Vieux Logis is a refuge for trout ticklers and lure specialists! Methods include bait fishing using maggots, fly fishing, and fishing au toc (a technique which originated in the Pyrenees, similar to drift fishing using natural bait). Our complex is near the Gave de Pau, and a number of rivers in the foothills: Ouzoum, Luz, Gest, Lagoin and Baniou Beez, and not far from the lakes in Garonne and Baliros. The most common species of fish, trout and minnows had better watch out!

Moreover, we provide you with specific areas in which to store your hiking and fishing equipment or your bike!
